This activity is perfect for teaching students about the mechanics of a sentence.
- 5 sentences are provided, each in a colored box
- teacher or student cuts out the words/pictures on the black lines
- place all word/picture cards together jumbled up
- students use colors, shapes, and sentence clues to create a simple sentence.
- simple sight words are used so that students can read the words and sentence before and after they are cut
-the sentences in this activity focus on color words.
Students can use the clues in the sentence to decide which word goes first by the capital letter, and which word goes last with the end punctuation. They can also use the colors to help them, as well as the shapes of the words.
Boardmaker pictures are used to simplify the definitions for students with special needs.
When I use this activity with my class, I glue the sentences onto index cards to give them longer life. Another option is to give each student a set, and they can glue the sentences on a piece of paper.
Worksheet would be excellent for general education Pre-K through possibly grade 2, also for all grades with special education students.
