Build a Silly Sentence File Folder Game
This can be used in centers, as an independent activity, etc.
This does not need to be a file folder game either. The build a silly sentence mat can be reproduced to use as a worksheet in the class along with the cards. Using a file folder can make it easy for storage.
Front cover with directions to glue on the front of the file folder
Build a silly sentence mat to glue into right side of file folder
Laminate the file folder after gluing the cover and the mat on.
“Who”, “Did what”, “Where or When” cards that are color coordinated and match the colors of the labels on the build a silly sentence mat. Print cards on cardstock and laminate.
The cards can be stored many ways. I suggest storing all the “who” cards in a ziplock bag labeled WHO, all the “Did What” cards in a ziplock bag labeled DID WHAT, and all the “Where or When” cards in a ziplock bag labeled WHERE OR WHEN. You can either staple the bags to the left side of the file folder or leave them in the folder.
Pull one card from each ziplock bag (“who”, “did what”, “when or where”). Fill in the build a silly sentence mat . Write your complete sentence.
