The Build-a-Word sight word literacy center game, a favorite of my students, is perfect for helping your students learn their sight words quickly, while having fun. Take a sight word card from the tool box. I used a science tool box I had laying around from college.
Read it. Say it. Build it!
Using a toy hammer, students “nail” together the letters to make the sight word. I used magnetic alphabet letters.
Included in this 41 page packet:
First grade sight words (print on cardstock, cut, and laminate)
Labels for your toolbox
Worksheet to practice writing sight words
