Atoms are an abstract topic for students to grasp. In this hands on or digital activity students will work with their periodic table to determine the number of protons, electrons and neutrons in a given element. Then they will create it.
You will receive both the hands on and digital activity. You can meet the needs of all students by offering the more kinesthetic or the digital version based on their individual needs.
In the hands on activity:
Element Cards are included for the first 10 Elements along with 2 blank cards that you can assign or have students pick out on their own.
This activity can be completed individually or in groups. I have included both color and a black and white version. You can have the students cut it and create it on their own or you can cut and laminate a class set that can be used over and over again. The cards are perfect size for interactive notebooks or can be stapled together as a packet.
Answer Key for the Element Cards is included
For the Digital:
Directions along with the first 3 elements are already in the slide as well as a master slide to easily have students create the atom for any of the elements.
This is in a Google Slide and you can easily share it with students through your Google Classroom.
