Perfect independent learning activity!
These 21 Build and Write cards will help your students independently practice reading and writing word family words. Students choose a word family mat and build each word with letter tiles or letter beads. Then, they practice writing them with dry erase markers. They can write the words on the lines and/or use them in sentences, as an added challenge.
Leave the cards out at your word work center and students can practice building and writing the words each week.
To prepare, just print and laminate the cards, or put them in sheet protectors. Add letter tiles or beads, dry erase markers and erasers, and you are good to go! You can keep all the mats out or just put out the ones you are studying.
These mats are great for centers, small groups, or interventions.
