These cards will provide some seasonal cheer while helping your students practice spelling, writing sentences and improving their handwriting.
I love switching things out for variety in my classroom. But not every WEEK! That just doesn’t work for me. So I created these Word Work Cards to go with the seasons. I can handle switching every month or so.
Included in your download are cards with these backgrounds:
Red & White Stripes
Clouds & Sun
Bucket & Shovel
Also included are blank word cards. Just print that page as many times as you need and write in your own words with markers. These are not editable. Younger students might benefit from red vowels and blue consonants. You design it with your class in mind.
Laminate the words. You can slide the cards into the write and wipe sleeves or laminate them too.
Students pick a card and “build it” using magnet letters or letter tiles (or even old linking cubes you wrote letters on yourself). Next the student copies the word onto the “write it” lines. Finally, they will “use it” by writing the word in a sentence they think up as well.
Handwriting practice, sentence writing practice and practice with spelling or high frequency words too. Now that’s a center I’ve been wishing for!
These printables can be used with any curriculum to help provide more exposure to high frequency words or spelling words.
Enjoy watching your kids turn into readers.
