Building Coins is an easy prep activity for St. Patrick's Day that contains several activities. It is an easy prep activity where differentiation is simple to do! It includes literacy and math practice for the primary classroom! Students may choose between two different toppers for their activity, a leprechaun or a pot of gold.
Option 1: allows the student to spell their name or spell sight words.
Option 2: allows students to put the numbers 1-20 in order, or put numbers in order by 10s from 10 – 100/120.
Option 3: allows students to match pictures that belong to the same word family
Option 4: has a few different versions. There is a version for single digit numbers as well as teen numbers. It allows students to work with numbers, and show what they know. The coins can be differentiated for each student, according to their ability. There are options for sketch, ten frame, even/odd, one more, one less, ten more and ten less.
This activity can be used for a craft, center activity, early finisher work, or as an alternative to morning work.
