Developing a sense of community and belonging in your classroom is vital to a positive learning environment.
One step in achieving that is by having your students get to know each other.
This simple and fun activity will not only build connections between students, but will give each child a chance to share things about themselves.
This activity will allow you to quickly get to know your students on a personal level. Children will make cool connections with other students. You may hear, “I didn’t know you liked horses.” Or “I like to build with Legos, too.”
Making connections helps you begin to build your classroom community. This will strengthen the ability to “all work together.”
* We have found it a good idea for the teacher to share their own bag first.
All you need is a paper lunch bag and copies of the homework note that is included.
