This activity is adapted for working on conversation skills or pragmatic language at home and is ideal for distance learning. It can also be used as speech therapy homework. It is especially intended for students who have a hard time maintaining conversational reciprocity or who only like to talk about their preferred topics. First, students will survey an adult in their household, or call and survey a relative using the form provided. Then, they will use the information gathered from the survey to come up with appropriate and topical conversational questions for their next interaction, using the worksheets provided. Last, they will practice their conversation skills with the person they originally surveyed, using the prepared questions they wrote. Also included are blank forms for students to write original survey questions.
