Build Good Character in your classroom in a fun way this year!
It's fun to build with lego blocks! Why not keep a bucket of blocks in your classroom and use them for building character. (paper bricks found in this packet work as well)
Every time a student is caught being a bucket filler they get
to add a lego brick to their tower.
Some fun ways to manage:
1. The kid who has the largest tower at the end of the week gets to be the Master Builder of Character. Then each student is handed page 3 of this document and asked to create a lego character of that student. They color it and decorate it and write nice comments about that student around the character they created for the student. This is then made into a little book about that student for them to take home and keep.(Sheets to make the book are included)
*This might be fun just to do as you have a student of the week.
2. After they have won this at least once I suggest they get to share their book with someone at school or have it displayed in different places. First time could be on the board, then the hallway, then the office…etc.
3.Also included are message bricks which you can have the students write messages to each other on the lego cards and drop them in a mailbox, envelope or old tissue box decorated like lego bricks. These messages should be compliments! These could be displayed on a bulletin board or a tack strip also depending on your classroom space.
4. Another idea could be to build a tower in the hallway or classroom when the class receives a class compliment or any classmate gets caught being a "bucket filler" or "character builder"
