Carefully sequenced activities to learn and practice the concept of tens and ones; the simple addition and subtraction of tens and ones, understanding the concept of halves and doubles (based on multiples of 2).
As the students develop the basic computation skills they will gain a number sense and the understanding of the relationships between numbers.
