Fluency (reading with accuracy, speed, and expression) is essential for reading comprehension. The resource includes a step-by-step guide for building fluency with the end result of building comprehension and a fluency chart to help students see progress. This is important to help struggling readers see how their reading can improve with the right tools. These resources fit within the Reading Workshop and balanced literacy frameworks. They will also assist in-class volunteers or tutors with supporting your literacy program.
