This activity is designed to target ESL, EAL/D students, Kindergarten up to Year 2. Students will work on their simple sentence structure recognising nouns and verbs. It is a fun activity and can be easily incorporated into rotational set ups and in any way you like.
The templates are all colour coded so students can easily recognise where in their sentences are the nouns and verbs.
This resource was created to assist students with their sentences structure starting from basic knowledge of correct sentence order: noun + verb. After that moving into another structure: noun + verb + direct object.
This resource is helpful for ESL OR EAD/L students or any other learning difficulties. Visual clues are great for students that are still struggling to understand each part of a sentence structure. As students move along, you could even add another colour to your sentence to teach Adverbs and Adjectives if you wish by using the set of blank templates provided and printing them out in a coloured paper of your choice.
In this “Building Sentences” pack, you will have:
Basic sentences colour coded template that you can print and laminate as many copies you wish for your classroom
Set of blank cards so students/teacher can add their own words and
Colour Coded Words cut outs. It is in A4 print outs format as I believe little hands need bigger printing for better hands-on experience, but you could print it in smaller scale if you wish.
This activity can be used in your rotational activity or part of a lesson.
Hope your students enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making it for them!
