Building Snowmen allows students to practice their literacy and numeracy skills. It is an easy prep activity where differentiation is simple to do! It is a great activity for January!
The body of the snowmen can be made several different ways:
1. The name of the student
2. Sight Words
3. Ordering numbers 10 - 100 and/or 120, skip counting by 10's
4. Number work with numbers in the ones, teen numbers, hundred numbers
Options include number, sketch, ten frame, tally marks, even/odd, expanded form, number bonds, one more, one less, ten more, ten less, hundred more, hundred less.
5. Welded Sounds/Glued Sounds: -ing, -ang, -ong, -ung
Students can all work on the same activity, or if there are different skills that students need practice with, that can be done as well.
This pack lends itself to a range of skills and grades, from Pre-K all the way to 2nd grade. I hope that you enjoy this January activity!
