In this simulation, students are given the geographical features of an ancient civilization. Then, they work as city-planners and make decisions about their new civilization based on their provided geography.
The resource covers six civilizations and their geography: Ancient India, China, Greece, Rome, Mesopotamia, and Egypt. Students can work in six groups (or fewer) and learn about geography in Ancient Civilizations.
This resource allows students to make a connection between geography and ancient civilizations. At the end, students are able to explain how geography affected the culture, economy, and survival of ancient civilizations.
