Open-ended Math Projects Bundle 2
Open-ended Math projects challenge students to come up with different solutions to problems - there is no one right answer.
In this project students must design an artificial reef to cover between 1/2 and 3/4 of a specific underwater site using specific reef materials.
There are website links included to show the students what artificial reef materials are available and what they look like. We used this as an Earth Day project but it is suitable for any time of the year.
Concepts covered include: addition, subtraction and multiplication of money and finding area. Percentages and fractions can be introduced also. Includes standard and metric measurements. Critical thinking is required!
My class loves open-ended projects and are always asking for more. I hope you enjoy them too. There are several other types of open-ended project available in the store. If you are unfamiliar with this type of learning you may want to look at the freebie project Terrific Tortoise to see what an open-ended project looks like.
