American Sign Language. Here's a fun way to create a bulletin board for your classroom that celebrates Deaf Culture. These bulletin board pencils have all 26 letters of the alphabet in ASL (American Sign Language) and are a great tool to celebrate diversity in your school.
This product has 26 pencils; each with a letter of the alphabet in ASL on them. The pencils print out in the same location on each page so all you have to do is print the pages you need to spell what you want to spell. When they are all printed you can stack them together and cut them using a scissors or a paper cutter to get them to look the same. Then you can have some students decorate your bulletin board - while you get caught up on your other responsibilities! :)
BONUS: There are also two other sets of pencils; one that has the English letter off to the side so you know which letters are which, and one that has an English letter on the eraser of the pencil for students to see.
Ideas of words/phrases to spell for you classroom:
-DEAF AWARENESS WEEK
-STUDENTS OF THE WEEK
-OUR AWESOME WRITING
-GOALS FOR THE YEAR
-(MONTHS OF THE YEAR)
