This printable notecard activity can be used to teach students in grades 3-6 about vocabulary related to bullying and proactive ways to handle bullying. It is a good opening activity for a bullying prevention unit for grades 3-6.
The purple and aqua polka dot cards are vocabulary terms; the aqua cards are the matching definitions. Numbers are provided in the corner of each card to help with the flow of the activity.
To begin, show the students the first notecard with "BEGIN" on it. Demonstrate how to say "I have Target/Victim. Who has the definition?" Show how the aqua definition card includes the words, "the person who has the bullying behavior happen to him or her." This would be the matching card. Play continues as the person holding the aqua card reads, "Who has Cyber-Bullying?"
Once students understand the game, shuffle the cards and pass them out. Allow the student holding card 1, "Target/Victim" to begin the game. Play continues until all the vocabulary terms and definitions have been linked. There is an END card on vocabulary term/definition 5.
