Bullying Prevention Week Assembly PPT PBIS Resources Video Link
This is a presentation that is perfect for a kick-off assembly or lesson for Bullying Prevention Week! I present one similar to this each year in October to start off our celebration week of focus on bullying prevention in our school. I have found it to be particularly effective in reviewing the following concepts:
• Definition of conflict;
• Definition of bullying behavior;
• Definition of bystander;
• Definition of UPstander;
• How to respond to bullying behaviors;
• You are never alone.
This presentation has 15 slides and includes a link a very powerful video that supports the concept that being an UPstander is vital to combatting bullying behaviors. The kids love this video and always ask me to play it again. : )
Additionally, it includes a note that can be personalized and copied into a Word document which is intended to send home with students to share plans for the week of celebration.
I have also included links to 22 different resources for utilizing during your bullying prevention week.
I would schedule 30 minutes for this lesson. This lesson is easily customizable and appropriate for both primary and intermediate levels. I would even say that you could probably extend it to middle school.
The PowerPoint includes both animations and transitions to hold your students' interest. It also has a soft musical background fill. Make your lesson come alive for your students and help them to connect to the concept in a fun way that will help them to remember the important lessons you need for them to remember.
If you find a link is not working, please let me know so that I can fix it. I don't control all of the links, and sometimes things happen! : )
