What is a bump it up wall?

It is a bulletin board students can use as a resource to improve their work.

Initially, students look at the examples and identify what changes and improvements were made from Level 1 to level 4.

I like to have a student write what improvements or changes were made onto an arrow for each level up. The arrow is printed on cardstock and laminated. This way, students can use dry-erase markers and we can re-use them. I have examples of what this would look like, as well as templates for arrows you can use in your classroom.

Essentially, students are to use to board to compare their work to the level 1 – level 4 examples. Students identify what they need to add or change n order to “bump up” his or her work.
