The Geography of Africa - Global History Common Core

This is a common core based lesson focusing on the geography of Africa. Students will read about the diverse geography of Africa and analyze the positive and negative impacts of each type of landform listed - including coastlines, savannas, bodies of water, deserts, natural resources, and rainforests. Then students read about and discuss the Bantu migration and predict the potential causes and impact it had on sub-Saharan Africa. Finally, a secondary source reading follows explaining the actual causes and effects.
