Product Description
** This product is a bundle of the 9 aided language boards I've created for school activities/centers. Included in this bundle are communication boards for:

1. Art Center
2. Kitchen Center
3. House Center
4. Dress Up/Dramatic Play Center
5. Train Table
6. Book Center
7. Puzzle Center
8. Block Center
9. Meal Time

These products are also available for purchase individually if you do not need all 9 boards/themes. By purchasing the bundle, you are saving 30% off the price it would be if you bought all 9 boards.

Low tech language boards provide a nice model for students who are learning to use more complex and higher tech AAC systems. But, aided language boards can be used across all types of communication needs. We know that visual supports for spoken language are invaluable. Use these to support your students' comprehension and as a vehicle for their expression as well.

These aided language boards combine core vocabulary with fringe vocabulary (specific to the topic or activity).

In my language boards, the symbols/words are color coded by type of linguistic function. You will note that the types of words are generally located within the same areas on each board (ex. actions are in the top left, while nouns are on the bottom right). The image in the center names the topic and is in a light gray background. There are typically 5-6 types of words and phrases on each board around the perimeter of the topic:

1. Actions (typically including core vocabulary such as "help" and then fringe vocabulary such as "throw away trash" for this center).
2. Descriptive terms related to the topic.
3. Nouns related to the topic.
4. Comments or questions related to the topic (ex. "My turn. Do you want to play?").
5. Politeness markers like "please" and "thank you."
6. Yes/no

There are 17 spaces for pictures including the topic/large space in the middle. Because some of the centers needed more spaces for fringe vocabulary specific to that activity, I chose not to include "yes/no" on some boards to allow for more relevant vocab.
