VOCABULARY TRANSLATION WORKSHEETS:
This French translation activity is a great way for students to put into practice the vocabulary from Bon Voyage Chapter 3. Part one familiarizes students with how sentences are expressed in French, requiring them to translate from French to English. Part two gives them practice forming sentences in French by translating from English. Finally, part three makes it personal, allowing them to create sentences of their own complètement en français!
Note: This activity is designed to directly correlate with Chapter 3 of the Bon Voyage level 1 textbook. However, it is a Word document that can easily be edited and adapted to any French textbook or curriculum.
This French grammar worksheet is a great way for students to practice the conjugation of -ER verbs. They will also receive practice replacing subject nouns with the corresponding subject pronouns. By practicing subject pronoun substitution, students can get a better understanding of which verb form to use when there is a subject noun instead of a pronoun.
In part one, students fill in the blank with the appropriate form of the given -ER verb. They will also choose four of those sentences to translate to English.
In part two, students write the subject pronouns that would be used to replace various subject nouns. Using this information, students then write the appropriate form of the given -ER verb to go with each subject noun.
In part three, students put it all together and form sentences in French by translating from English.
Finally, in part four, students rewrite French sentences in the negative, making all the necessary changes, including changing indefinite articles to "de".
It is a very effective way to get students comfortable with the concept of verb conjugation, as well as help them successfully conjugate -ER verbs with subjects of all types.
Note: For users of the Bon Voyage level 1 textbook, this corresponds very well with Chapter 3 Structure. It also works well with Chapter 2 of Bien Dit level 1. In fact, it is a Word document that can easily be edited and adapted to any French textbook or curriculum.
