Product Description
This is a bundle of 3 investigation journals.

The download is a zip file of
*Traveling Water in Plants: Experiment for Kindergarten and First Grade
*Model Water Transportation in Vascular and Nonvascular Plants for 2nd and 3rd Grade
*Model Water Transportation in Vascular and Nonvascular Plants for 4th and 5th Grade

This is a wonderful investigation exploring the two types of ways plants transport water. Students will model how vascular and nonvascular plants transport water. The investigation will help them understand how water gets to the top of a tall tree and spreads in nonvascular plants like moss. Students will follow the scientific method to answer the question:

Does the type of paper affect the distance water will travel?

Depending on the grade level students will create a hypothesis, record observations, measure, create a graph, and relate their results to plants. They will learn the importance of phloem, xylem, and lignin in vascular plants.

The journals meets the *Next Generation Science Standards:
*Kindergarten: Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems: Animals, Plants, and Their Environment
*First Grade: Structure, Function, and Information Processing
*Third Grade: Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems
*Fourth Grade: Structure, Function, and Information Processing

Teachers will like there ease of use, simple materials, and background information. Students will enjoy performing a hands on activity and understanding the differences in plants.

Items Included in zip file download:
