This Bundle contains 5 sets of reading material and assessment tools that will help to enhance your Guided, Shared and Independent Reading Program, as well as provide practice for fine motor and writing skills development!
The packet includes the following book sets:
- C'est l'hiver!
- La Saint-Valentin
- Combien d'oeufs? (Easter/Spring)
- J'aime le printemps
- A la ferme
The big books that are included in this set are perfect for Shared Reading lessons. I like to use them at the carpet to introduce and practice the story as a whole group. The vocabulary cards are perfect for using in your chart stand to create and practice sentences, or for your Writing Centre as a guide for writing activities.
Guided & Independent Reading
- 5 12-page colour mini books
- 5 12-page B&W mini books
I like to use the mini books in both Guided and Independent Reading Activities. They are perfect as part of my Book-in-a-Bag program. The easy-to-print books are perfect to send home (if they get lost, simply print a new one!) – no more costly books to replace! Print these books again and again. (The kids love to colour them, too!)
- 5 12-page B&W Activity Book versions of the story
- 5 1-page drawing sheets
I like to use the Activity version of the book in my Writing Centre as both a writing practice lesson and a reading comprehension assessment tool. Students must read, fill in and draw missing elements to complete the story. The Drawing Sheet is a way for students to demonstrate an understanding of new vocabulary; they can complete the sentence using vocabulary cards or with their own words, then draw a picture to accompany it!
- 5 Running Record Sheets (1 for each book)
The Running Record is an essential tool in my assessment practice. It is a great way to check reading comprehension, see what strategies students are using to decode sentences, and test knowledge of high-frequency words.
