Forest biomes package includes ALL of the following (detailed description below):
*A) Forest ecosystem kinesthetic games
eight games in one.
*B) Forest Biomes PPT
*C) Biome bingo
*D) Plant parts – Which is the Greatest reader’s theater script (Flesch-Kincaid grade level 4.5)
*E) Food chain project template
A) Teach your students about ecosystems, food chains and webs, omnivore, herbivore, consumer, producer, prey, predator, niche, competition, habitat, camouflage, using move around, kinesthetic games. Not just for students with short attention spans.
For grades 3-7. Make great interdisciplinary lessons between science and PE and provides students in long blocks an authentic reason to get up and move while learning.
Package includes eight games of varying difficulty and length of playing time, deciduous forest organism cards with color pictures (oak tree, raspberry bush, apple tree, grass, clover, earthworm, nuthatch, grasshopper, snake, rabbit, pine tree and fox), color resource cards, food web.
Contains the following eight games: Camouflage; Fox, nuthatch, trees; Foxes, acorns and a bunch of rabbits; Omnivore tag; Square meal tag (included in preview); Steal the acorn; Herbivore, producer, decomposer; Staying alive!
Each game contains rules, background knowledge, equipment needed (if any), optional playing extensions, discussion, and extensions. Laminate for long lasting play.
B) Save time with this 43-slide power point covering life science SOLs regarding rain forest, coniferous and deciduous forest biomes and plant adaptations to their environment. Food chain, human impact and economic connections included. Graphics enhance the material, providing students with visual representations.
Review slides for Q and A following the presentation can be used to informally assess learning. Over a dozen links to internet resources and games are included as well as graphic organizers and a rubric for an alphabet book.
C) Take a tour of all the terrestrial biomes, aquatic ecosystems and review related vocabulary with this 2 in 1 bingo game. Full version includes 75 color-coded clue cards and 43 total bingo cards (31 of biomes and 12 related vocabulary). No two bingo cards are alike. You provide the markers. To make long lasting cards, run on card stock and laminate. It is easy to add in your own clues or even use worksheets or workbooks for additional clues.
Includes all terrestrial biomes, aquatic ecosystems, vocabulary words such as population, community, hibernation, dormancy, eutrophication, biotic, abiotic, climate, habitat, niche and more. Teacher can choose which cards and clues for specific topics or use all the cards for review or introducing a unit to assess student background knowledge.
D) Reader’s theater covering plant parts, photosynthesis, pollination, fertilization, germination and life cycle.
E) Often my students spend valuable class time inserting text boxes, setting up lay out, etc. rather than focusing on and fully digesting the content of the assigned power point. Using this template helps students focus on what is most important.
This 15-slide power point covers food chains in eight biomes and serves as a template teachers can use to build their own presentations or provide to students to learn these life science concepts in a hands on manner that provides graphics and graphic organizers. A sample slide with a savanna food chain and biome picture helps visual learners understand the assignment.
Directions for inserting graphics and text to describe the desert, rain forest, tundra, taiga, ocean, wetlands and forest biomes are part of the slide show as are links to websites with information and graphics.
Additionally, links to interactive games and activities to reinforce food chain and biome concepts are included.
Each can be purchased separately as well. Check out other science related products and freebies!
