February Math: Solving Story Problems Revised 12/2015 offers practice with the necessary steps for solving mathematical word problems. The steps included are: read the story, circle the numbers or number words given, underline the key words that indicate what mathematical operation needs to be done, draw the representations of the numbers, write the number sentence, solve, and write the answer. These activities are CCSS aligned- 1.OA.1, and 1.OA.2. There are four Work Mats with the steps for writing/creating/solving word problems. There are 21 pages (including a BONUS) of addition/subtraction number story problems to cut, and paste on the work mats, and then solve. I have also included some pictures for the students to use to create and write their own story problems. They all have a February/winter theme. The stories include numbers in two ways, the numerical and word forms. This is a perfect activity for small group math centers, or for whole class work. It can also be used in interactive math journals. If you like this product, I also have January, March, April, May, August, September, November, and December units available in my TpT store. Some of these units are combined in bundles by seasons at a SAVINGS to you: Fall Math, Winter Math, and Spring Math. If you have a need for a Spanish version, the November, December, and January ones are available in my TpT store, I am working on February as we speak, and you can request any of the other months, as well!
