In Don’t Let Me Repeat Myself: Eliminating Redundant Words And Phrases, students learn the importance of using conciseness in writing by eliminating redundant words and phrases.

They first examine examples of redundancy and see how the examples should be written to avoid repetition.

Example:
The true fact is that 50% of your final grade depends on your test scores
With redundancy eliminated:
The fact is that 50% of your final grade depends on your test scores

Next, they have two pages of examples (53 examples in all) of redundant phrases that are commonly heard or written, along with explanations of the redundancy and how the redundancy can be eliminated.

After that, students have another 2 pages of sample sentences (53 sentences) that they read and revise to eliminate the redundancies they have studied.

An answer key is included.
