This is a bundle of two, highly animated, power point presentation on the first rebellions of the new United States governments first, Shays Rebellion under the Articles of Confederation and the second, the Whiskey Rebellion under the United States Constitution and the impact of each on the federal government. There are a total of 33 slides in the presentations, all of which are editable so you can modify the slides if you need to.
Shay's Rebellion was the rebellion led by Daniel Shays to protest the treatment farmers were getting by being unable to pay their debts. This rebellion did fail but brought about the need to reject the Articles of Confederation to form a new constitution.
The Whiskey Rebellion was an open rebellion by farmers in Western Pennsylvania who felt the tax on selling their liquor was unfair and that they were being taxed without proper representation. This event was also the first rebellion the federal government had to quell to show its power to rule.
