Product Description
This is a bundle of 2 highly animated, power point presentations on the presidency of William H Taft and a summary of issues which led up to his election. Both presentations together number 34 slides. Each of the presentation slides are editable so you can change them to fit your individual needs.

William Howard Taft worked as a judge in OH Superior Court and in the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals before accepting a post as the first civilian governor of the Philippines in 1900. In 1904, Taft became secretary of war in the Theodore Roosevelt administration.

Taft lacked the expansive view of presidential power that Roosevelt had and was a more successful administrator than politician. By 1912, Roosevelt, dissatisfied with Taft’s presidency, had formed his own Progressive Party, splitting Republican voters and handing the White House to the Democrat Woodrow Wilson.

William Howard Taft was an American jurist and statesman who served as both the 27th President of the United States and later the 10th Chief Justice of the United States. A leader during the Progressive Era, Taft and his conservative allies took control of the Republican Party away from Theodore Roosevelt and the liberals.

He is the only person to have presided over both the executive and judicial branches of the United States federal government.

In the election of 1908, The predominant campaign issue was Roosevelt. His record as a reformer countered Bryan’s reformist reputation, and Taft promised to carry on Roosevelt’s policies. Business leaders campaigned for Taft. Despite running a vigorous campaign against the nation's business elite, Bryan suffered the worst loss of his three presidential campaigns.

In the election of 1912, the election was affected by Roosevelt's decision to form a new party. The combined vote for Taft and Roosevelt indicated that if the Republican party had not split, they would have won the presidency; the total cast for Wilson, Roosevelt, and Debs spoke to the people’s endorsement of progressive reform.
