PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a bundle of 2 highly animated, power point presentations on the presidency of James Madison & the defining event of his presidency. Both presentations together number 80 slides. Each of the presentation slides are editable so you can change them to fit your individual needs.

James Madison was a founding father of the United States and the 4th American president, serving in office from 1809 to 1817. An advocate for a strong federal government, the VA born Madison composed the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights and earned the nickname “Father of the Constitution.”

In 1792, Madison and Thomas Jefferson founded the Democratic-Republican Party, which has been called America’s first opposition political party. When Jefferson became the 3rd U.S. president, Madison served as his secretary of state. In this role, he oversaw the Louisiana Purchase from the French in 1803.

During his presidency, Madison led the U.S. into the controversial War of 1812 against Great Britain. After 2 terms in the White House, Madison retired.

The War of 1812 lasted two-and-a-half years, between the United States and Great Britain and Ireland its North American colonies and its American Indian allies. Seen by the United States and Canada as a war in its own right, it is frequently seen in Europe as a theatre of the Napoleonic Wars, as it was caused by issues related to that war. The war resolved many issues which remained from the American Revolutionary War but involved no boundary changes.

Power point #2 is entitled, The United states & Minor Wars - The War of 1812 and contains 60 slides and covers the following:

1803-1812: British impress approximately 10,000 Americans forcing them to work on British ships. The British blockade France, American ships are caught in the middle and the British seize approximately 1000 US ships.
