Blitzkrieg (lightning warfare) was unleashed by Adolf Hitler and 1.5 million German soldiers on tiny Poland on September 1, 1939, via several gigantic mechanized formations, smashing all opposition in sight.

It was first time the world had ever witnessed Blitzkrieg involving carefully coordinated attacks of planes, tanks, motorized troops and self-propelled artillery, all set to a precise timetable. The Polish Army was outgunned and outmanned by 3 to 1 and offered a brave but futile resistance against the German war machine.

Blitzkrieg would become a hallmark of German tactical warfare in World War II. By pinpointing one small spot on the front line, attacking it with overwhelming force, then sending a flood of tanks, armored troops and motorized infantry through that narrow opening, the enemy was quickly overrun.

Power point #1 is entitled, World War II - European Theater - Invasion of Poland and contains 15 slides and covers the following:

Blitzkrieg
Target, Poland’s Cities
Luftwaffe
Poland’s Collapse
Fall of Warsaw
Nazi-Soviet Pact
Stalin Caught off Guard
Stalin, The Opportunist
Populations Traded
Execution Squads
Nazi Subjugation

End of Presentation

Shortly after the German invasion of Poland, in September 1939, more than 400,000 Jews in Warsaw, the capital, were confined to an area of the city that was little more than 1 square mile. In November 1940, this ghetto was sealed off by brick walls, barbed wire and armed guards, and anyone caught leaving was shot on sight.

The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was the 1943 act of Jewish resistance that arose within the Warsaw Ghetto in German-occupied Poland during World War II, and which opposed Nazi Germany's final effort to transport the remaining Ghetto population to Treblinka extermination camp.

The most significant portion of the rebellion took place beginning on April 19, but ended when the poorly supplied resistance was defeated by the German soldiers. This officially finished their operation to liquidate the Ghetto on May 16. It was the largest single revolt by Jews during World War II.

Power point #2 is entitled, War II - Eastern Front - Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and contains 14 slides and covers the following:
