Save time and energy while differentiating instruction and challenging your students with this plant bundle.
Plant bingo provides three levels of play with headers color coded for easy differentiation or tiered lessons. Contains plant parts (leaves, sepals, roots, sigma, pistil, xylem, phloem), processes (photosynthesis, transpiration), plant adaptations (water lily, cactus, evergreens, deciduous, etc.), classification (angiosperm, gymnosperm, (non) and vascular) and other plant related vocabulary. It has 51 unique cards, hard and medium/easy cues and markers to run off (and laminate for long lasting fun). No two bingo cards are alike. Most markers container color graphics. .PDF files in a ZIP folder.
Three plant card games in one! Players learn how plants grow, develop and how parts function in the PLANT PART game. The PHOTOSYNTHESIS game lets students collect water, carbon dioxide and sunlight cards to be synthesized into glucose. The POLLINATION game teaches how the parts of a flower function and how pollinators assist in the process.
All three games also incorporate weather and other events as well as plant adaptations making these games valuable resources for teaching the big picture.
Full-color graphics make these cards appealing and help ESL and struggling readers. These card games provide an excellent anchor activity for students who finish early or need a challenge plus they can be used to differentiate instruction or provide tiering (cards can also be used as a sort rather than a game for struggling students.)
Power Point presentation contains 23 slides and is full of pictures, diagrams and provides a visual review on the final slide. Covers the parts and functions of the flower, cross pollination, the role of animals in pollinating and what results when pollination fails to occur.
The pollination board game is a .PDF you print, laminate and assemble to make a board game. Besides the six 8x11 sheets that form the full color board, clues & questions, links to online game and full color player markers (bat, bee, butterfly, wind and various insects – 10 total) A free online version of the questions can be found at Pollination challenge board http://www.quia.com/cb/832967.html
You must supply the pollen tokens (seeds, beads, beans, popcorn kernels are suggested). The game has several options for advanced play and review. Makes a great anchor activity. In addition, a short reader’s theater about pollination (part of a life science script bundle also available on TpayT) is included.
Leaf dichotomous key - Save time while engaging students in multi-purpose gallery walk. During this activity, students use a dichotomous key to classify leaves and draw conclusions about plants. Gallery walks spur active involvement through discussion, collaboration (appealing to interpersonal learners), analysis & synthesis and require students to physically move around the room (engaging kinesthetic learners). Teachers can informally assess based on what they hear and observe or formally assess based on conclusions generated.
Eleven stations allow students to examine the 11 photos of leaves, use the dichotomous key to determine their genus and species and apply critical thinking to answer the adaptation questions included at each station. 17 pages (.PDF) in a ZIP file.
Package includes, a dichotomous key, writing prompt with graphic organizer, rubric, reader’s theater one page scene, links to online games and resources.
Ag Cash Crop game Which facet of agriculture will you choose? Can you invest wisely despite uncertain circumstances? Will you obtain patents and STEM advances? Color and graphics make the cards appealing and students will need to use their math skills to calculate their income. Rules include an optional ways to play (the science of agriculture vs. economic concepts). .PDFs in a ZIP folder) You supply the dice.
