Zip! Zap! is a fun game to help students learn their high-frequency words. Each set has 25 words to practice. In all there are 600 words to learn!
Each Zip! Zap! set has its own Zip! and Zap! card, different from any other set. This keeps the interest high even though the game is played in the same way for each level. Kids love learning the words in each set so they can move on to the next level and see the new cards.
To play, the cards are all placed in a draw pile. A student draws a card from the pile and reads the word. If the word is read correctly, the player keeps the card. If the word is read incorrectly, the player must put the card in the bottom of the draw pile. Play continues on in this manner. When a Zip! card is drawn, the player receives another turn. When a Zap! card is drawn, the player loses all his cards to the draw pile (or you may choose to only lose one card). Play continues until all the cards are gone from the draw pile. The winner is the one with the most cards at the end of the game.
