This unit contains 35 pages of reading, writing and math activities centered around the theme of bunnies. The reading and math levels vary from end of first grade to the middle of second grade. There are eighteen ELA activities, including two original nonfiction stories and a brief version of the fiction story, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. These stories are followed up with related roll and read, close read and comprehension activities. In addition there are three special writing opportunities, including writing a friendly letter, writing informational text and writing an opinion piece. The math activities include graphing data from a scene with bunnies and flowers, telling time to the hour, half-hour and quarter hour, and identifying even and odd numbers and greater or less than numbers using both 2 and 3 place numerals. The wider span of difficulty provides opportunities for students of varying levels to use and enjoy this unit. Students will be able to work on most of these activities independently, or a teacher may wish to use them to introduce and model new concepts. The list of unit contents will show you what is specifically included. Students will love working on important target skills, while learning more about bunnies!
