The following activities can be used with one of my favorite Easter stories Bunny Trouble, by Hans Wilhelm.
page 3 – Character Map – Students fill in character traits about Ralph.
pages 4 – 8 – Scrambled Sentences – Cut out and laminate the scrambled sentences. Have students build the sentences then choose one to record on one of the recording sheets. One option has the student recording all 4 sentences, the second has students print one and illustrate.
pages 9 – 10 – Same / Different – Compare and contrast Ralph and a real bunny. Choice of a venn diagram or list for recording.
page 11 – Predicting – Use this page while introducing the book. Read to the part where Liza finds Ralph in a cage, stop reading and have students predict how Ralph will get free. You’ll get some creative responses! Then come back together and finish the book.
pages 12 – 14 – Alphabetical order There are four cards which each have 5 words from the story to be printed in alphabetical order on the recording sheet.
page 15 – Story order – first, next, last
page 16 – word search – perfect for early finishers
pages 17 – 20 Fiction or Non-Fiction – Students sort sentence cards then record.
page 21 – How has Ralph changed from the beginning to the end.
page 22 – Which character is most like you? Why?
pages 23 – Design an egg.
