”Bunny’s Colorful Garden”
Reinforce sight words, color words, reading questions and quotations, main idea and details, and making a connection with this fun and engaging emergent reader! My "Bunny’s Colorful Garden" mini book features predictable text and practices the sight words what, can, I, that, is, said, are, them, and, he, did, and color words. Students will follow bunny as he plants his garden with different colored vegetables in his garden. I have included two response activities. First, students will complete a “petal flip flap” main idea and details graphic organizer. Given the main idea, students will draw and write details from the text. Detailed directions are included with this easy to complete activity! Once complete, students will be eager to share their creations. You can also attach the completed flowers to colorful construction paper to create a springtime bulletin board or wall display. Second, students will complete a “My Colorful Garden” flip book. They will think of different colored fruits or vegetables that they would plant in a garden, trace and complete sentences on the front, and draw pictures to match on the inside. This also provides students a great opportunity to share their writing with a partner or the group!
