Welcome to the Bushels Of Reading Glyph. Apples are a symbol of back-to-school and September. In this project, students will fill out a glyph on a cute apple bushel.
This worksheet will work well with any age of students, but especially elementary. Students will follow the glyph key to create an individual apple bushel. They color the apples based on their reading preference for fiction and nonfiction. Then they draw a smiling, frowning, or squiggle couth on the apple depending on their like or dislike of reading in general. The number of worms on the apples equals the number of books they read this summer. There is even a bushel band for students to write their name on. Students will love the cute graphics that they individualize for themselves.
