Product Description
In this project students will explore careers in an assigned business related cluster. A list of cluster assignments are included in the file with 3 careers per cluster for students to research. I have students work in pairs to complete the project. Students will design a PowerPoint Presentation or Google Slides detailing information about their assigned cluster and careers. A website is recommended for career research.

I use this project in my Introduction to Business and Marketing course to teach careers. I usually give students 60-90 minutes class to research and design their project and another 45-60 minutes to present their projects to the class. At the conclusion students complete the reflective assignment on Socrative (a website students can access via any device) in approximately 10-15 minutes.

This resource includes an assignment sheet with instructions for the project, a rubric to grade the project, and a list of clusters/careers that could be cut up and drawn by students to assign topics to research. This project covers the following standard:

Explore careers in each of the Business Management and Administration, Finance, and Marketing pathways. For each of these career clusters, research the job descriptions and typical activities of major professions such as chief executive officer, accountant, real estate agent, advertising specialist, branch manager, wealth management/trust officer, and more. Produce a career pathways chart or other graphic detailing the aptitudes and training required for careers of interest. For example, outline the typical skills and training required to become a human relations manager, including personal aptitudes, post-secondary credentials, and licensing. Upon completion of the chart, conduct a self-assessment of aptitudes, interests, and
personality aligned to careers; then devise a tentative career plan to reach employment goals based on the research conducted.
