This project requires students to apply the functions of communication, advertising, and the 4 P’s (Product, Place, Price, and Promotion) by strategically planning a Social Media Campaign to promote an original Food Truck business. Students name their food truck, create a menu catering to their audience, design an effective logo, make choices they believe will be more profitable etc.
This is an authentic critical-thinking and problem-solving assignment that takes multiple days to complete. Students find this task relatable and tend to get competitive with their peers. I encourage teachers to add a layer of competition. I have done so with a range of students in 10th-12th grades individually, with partners, and in groups of 4. You will be blown away by some of their presentations.
