Product Description
What is a WebQuest?
A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which the information used by learners is drawn from the Internet. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time efficiently, to focus on interpreting, summarizing, and/or using information rather than on looking for it. WebQuests are also a wonderful way of capturing students' imagination and allowing
them to explore in a guided, meaningful manner. WebQuests also support learners thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
How would I use this product?
WebQuests are completed on an iPad or computer and have an answer sheet to record the information found. Students can work independently, in pairs, or small groups to complete a WebQuest. I have used them on an iPad as a center or in the computer lab with my whole group!
WebQuests make a great introductory or culminating activity, depending on your students’ research skill level and familiarity with the topic. They can also be assigned to an individual student who may need enrichment. They can make a great activity to leave with a substitute!
Each WebQuest has numbered pictures which are hyperlinks to a webpage. On this web page is an article, video, map, etc. where your students will find the answer to a question on their handout. There are approximately 5-6 links/questions for each topic. There is also a bonus link with no question. I use this as an activity for early finishers as its usually a video, fun facts, or game.
