These 2 butterfly crafts for grades 3-5 make beautiful spring and summer displays for your classroom. I would recommend going no lower than 3rd grade because the Cotton Swab Butterflies must be laminated and then cut out, requiring fairly sharp scissors. The Torn Paper Butterfly requires both hand and finger dexterity and patience. The butterfly is more beautiful when lots of small paper bits are used. Students love to make these crafts and enjoy looking at their butterflies during the last few months of school!
Click on the preview to see a GIF of the Cotton Swab Butterflies. I like to give each student the page with 4 different butterflies, but I have included other templates with only one kind of butterfly on each page, so you have many options.
