Lesson Intentions: This kit will provide your child/student hand-on activities to understand and learn about the parts of a butterfly and metamorphosis. This kit will help build your child’s/student’s vocabulary awareness and visual discrimination.
Kit Includes: Illustrated lesson plan with three different activities (23 pages including worksheets)
Recommended materials to accompany lesson: “Caterpillar to Butterfly,” by Laura Marsh, story book and sequence objects (can be purchased on my website at abc-crate.com
Materials included that you will need to print and laminate (mat with cardstock): five-part butterfly matching cards; butterfly sequence cards (egg, caterpillar, jay, chrysalis, and mature butterfly); full size painted lady butterfly picture; “parts of a butterfly” worksheets (color and black and white to color, you are allowed to make extra copies of these); “parts of a butterfly” mini color sheets (for your child/student to make their own “parts of” booklets); painted lady butterfly color page; and an animal report template.
