Ordering eggs and larva food is specific to Painted Lady Butterflies since they are currently permitted for mail delivery throughout the US. Please be aware that the USDA does not permit environmental release of Painted Lady Butterflies in Hawaii.
Materials you will need:
1 Vial of Painted Lady Butterfly Eggs (https://tinyurl.com/paintedladyeggs)
Painted Lady Culture https://tinyurl.com/larvafood (Store in refrigerator.)
2 60-80 oz Plastic Containers with Sealing Lids
Coffee Filters (1 per student)
8-10 oz. Clear Cups with Lids (1 per student)
Colored Pencils or Crayons
Spoon or Measuring teaspoon
Butterfly Tent - Purchased or Handmade- Ideas Included!
Cardboard Box or Two (Needs to fit in tent to hang chrysalises)
Plastic Tarp or Newspaper
Fresh Fruit (Oranges, apples, watermelon, etc.)
Small Paper Bags
Optional: Microscope or Computer with Projector
