Students learn the life cycle of a butterfly using a cooperative learning technique.
Cut out the cards. Laminate for longer usability. Teachers, if you have more than 18 students, you can copy a set of cards more than once.
Students pair up to share the questions on the cards.
Player One shows his card to Player Two, keeping his right thumb over the answer in the bottom right hand corner. If Player Two answers correctly, Player One gives praise or compliments. If Player Two answers incorrectly, the pair work to figure out the mistake.
Then Player Two shows her card to Player One covering the answer with her thumb. After both cards are understood, the players switch cards and find new partners.
Students can meet with partners more than once as long as they have both had a chance to get a new card.
Students can also use these cards for independent practice, self-check by removing thumb from answer!
