This is a black and white diagram of the butterfly lifecycle, featuring the Wanderer or Monarch butterfly, a butterfly which is probably identifiable no matter where you're based.
It shows the lifecycle, with pictures, and also includes a description of that stage of the lifecycle.
This will work with units on lifecycles, insects or animal studies, changes, seasons or nature observation.
The sheet is quick to colour in. Students will be able to research the markings of the adult butterfly and caterpillar stages and fill them in. A simple colour version of this (without the writing) is also available (link below). These two resources can work well together - one as a prompt for information, the other with more detail.
It is provided in png format so it can be easily resized and used as a poster or kept in worksheet size.
