This product was created as both a classroom management tool and counting coins practice.
The intention is that students earn plastic coins for positive behavior throughout the week, or a properly determined amount of time, from the teacher. At the end of the time period, students count their money and purchase a reward coupon. The coupons are then returned to the teacher when the reward is satisfied.
Many of these coupons require little or no prep from the teacher. Just laminate and store until “shopping” days.
Since there are four of each coupon, once something is “sold out” students must purchase a different coupon.
“Shopping” days are a great formative assessment of a student’s counting coins ability. You can also use the time to allow students to make change and swap coins (2 dimes and a nickel for a quarter).
I hope your kiddos are as motivated about this tool as mine are. Enjoy!
