A game of various topics covering basic music theory concepts for the choral classoom. There are 5 Rounds, each a different topic: Dynamics, Note Type Identification, Rhythm (chanting patterns), Solfege Identification, and General Theory terminology and symbols.
In each round there are 3 quick questions or identifications, and then a "Buzz" question that students work in teams to solve before buzzing back in.
Specific concepts covered:
Dynamics: Forte, Piano, crescendo (with symbols)
Note Identification and Rhythm: Half note, Quarter note, Dotted-Half Note, Eighth Note
General Terminology: Staccato, A cappella, Repeat Sign, Crescendo, tempo, accelerando
Solfege ID (Key of G): Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol
Each round has a title slide, and then a slide for each "question." I have used it with classroom buzzers, and as soon as the new "question" slide comes up students have to buzz in to answer and win their team a point, rotating players from each team for each round.
