This unit contains 4 original vocabulary stories and 4 corresponding sets of leveled vocabulary homework. This unit is based off of Nancy Fetzer's concept of using vocabulary words in multiple contexts to ensure students understand their meaning outside the given text.
I divided the vocabulary into 3 sections: chapters 1-4, 5-9, and 10-15, and 16-18.
Each section has an original story corresponding to it. The story is meant to be read every day for a week, and the leveled homework is given out on Thursday night. The "low" homework is CLOZE sentences directly taken from the story, the "middle" asks students to retell the story of the week, and the "high" requires students to create an original narrative using the vocabulary words. Each contains a word bank.
