This is a fun camping themed resource for language development! It contains a variety of activities for speech therapy or aba therapy that can be modified to target almost any skill level! Many of the activities included in this product require teamwork and problem solving, and this packet would be a great addition for a summer camp focusing on speech & language development, social skills, problem solving, and working together!
The following activities are included in this product:
1. Where Will We Go Camping Board
Use this board to introduce the camping trip to your students. Allow them to choose where they want to go camping to immerse themselves in the play camping experience. You can talk about the differences between each place.
2. What Kinds of Animals Will We See?
Use this board and the pictured animals as a sorting task to learn about where each type of animal lives. Some of the animals can live in more than one home, and you can talk about that with older students. Where else can these can animals live? How can they live in different homes? What home do you think would be best?
3. Animal Scavenger Hunt
Print and cut the animals at the bottom of page 5 and hide them around your classroom/clinic. Give your students a flashlight (or pair of binoculars) and a copy of the scavenger hunt sheet on page 6. Once your student has found all the animals, they can answer the review questions at the bottom of the page.
4. What Should We Pack?
This can be an activity for language building/vocabulary for younger learners. Name each item and practice formulating sentences “I will pack….” For older students, you can use this as a teamwork/problem solving activity. You can only choose THREE items to pack. Which items will you need the most and why? Work together with your teammates to choose the best items and defend your answers!

Use these 4 articles and review questions to introduce different ecosystems and vocabulary to your students.
6. Campground Welcome Sign with Weather Visuals
Every campground needs a welcome sign! What will the weather be like today?
7. What kind of Clothing Should We Wear?
This is a great activity for young learners. Change the weather and see if they can determine appropriate clothing!
8. Make a S’more Following Direction Activity
Listen carefully and follow directions to make the perfect s’more!
9. Understanding Nature Signs
Help your students understand and express the meaning of some common nature signs.

Now that your student understand what each nature sign means, are they able to problem solve with them?
